I am a General Practitioner, with a degree in Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and specialist training at the Gregorio Marañón University Hospital. After several years working as a pediatrician in the public healthcare system, I decided in 2016 to launch a personal project: bringing healthcare into people’s homes. That’s how Equipo Médico Ordovás was born—today made up of around 40 professionals from different areas of healthcare, and attending to over 7,000 patients a year.
I was born in Dublin and raised in Madrid, with a British mother and a Spanish father. At home we spoke “Spanglish”, and that blend of cultures has deeply shaped my way of seeing the world. Medicine gave me not only a vocation, but also a family: I’m married to a Venezuelan surgeon and I’m the mother of four children (and a dog).
Through my children, I’ve learnt things you won’t find in textbooks: breastfeeding techniques, infant colic, healthy sleep habits… I’m a doctor by profession and a mother by vocation, and both roles have taught me the empathy that children — and parents — so often need. I live each day trying to balance my calling in medicine with the intensity — and joy — of family life.

Graduated in medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 2016, I decided to carry out my pediatrics residency at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid. During my student years, I had the opportunity to stay in the pediatric section of a hospital in Ghana, where I discovered my vocation for children. At that moment, it was clear to me that I wanted to dedicate myself to the care of children, and so years later, I arrived in Madrid to complete my training as a pediatrician at the University Hospital of Getafe.
