How to strengthen the immune system
Welcome September!
September is synonymous with a return to routine for everyone. Adults go back to work and children go back to school. The immune system is a fundamental part of the organism, a network of cells distributed throughout the body that work together in the defense against microorganisms and external aggressive substances. It is a system that must be reinforced at specific times and with special attention to children.
A strong immune system is capable of creating a barrier of defenses against external aggressors. For this, it is necessary to maintain a series of key aspects that help the normal functioning of the defenses.
How can we help strengthen the immune system?
A healthy and balanced diet, good hydration, an active lifestyle, getting the recommended hours of sleep and active immunization with vaccines play a fundamental role. Some of the most important nutrients when it comes to strengthening our organism are: Vitamin C, Vitamin D, B group vitamins (B1, B5, B6, B12…), zinc or iron. Therefore, we must include in our diet foods with a high vitamin and mineral value.
What foods are recommended to include in the diet?
Vegetables: essential, as they are a source of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A (carrots), vitamin C (cauliflower), iron and calcium (spinach).
Citrus fruits: due to their high vitamin C content (orange, kiwi).
Dairy products: in addition to calcium, they are important thanks to the supply of Vitamin D, which contributes to the proper functioning of the immune system and bone growth.
Nuts: also an essential source of vitamin D, vitamin E and protein.
Fish: important thanks to the contribution of minerals that contribute to a healthy immune system.
Legumes: great source of minerals and vitamins, especially B group vitamins, which contribute to the formation of red blood cells and increased cellular energy.
Food supplements
In addition to the above mentioned, it is advisable for both adults and children to take food supplements that perform the function of immunomodulator, reinforcing the innate immune response, that is, the first line of defense of our body. It is not necessary to boost our defenses, but to modulate and coordinate them so that they act more quickly and effectively against common threats such as viruses or bacteria that often lead to respiratory tract infections.
Examples of nutritional supplements:
Inmunoferon with AM3® Technology, patented technology by Cantabria Labs. The AM3® complex consists of a complex of glucomannan and soy protein that acts at the digestive level by modulating the immune cells, stimulating our body’s natural defenses and thus reinforcing the immune system against more demanding stages such as seasonal changes, stress, recurrent infections or viruses. In the case of Inmunoferon Junior Syrup for children (from two years of age), in addition to AM3® it also contains echinacea, Propolis and Vitamin D and C, which are ingredients with known innate immune system stimulating properties. In the case of Inmunoferon Capsules or Inmunoferon Sachets (for adults or children over 12 years of age), in addition to AM3® it also contains Zinc+, which is known to stimulate the innate immune system.
AM3® contains Zinc+, a potent immune system regulator.
Imunoglukan P4H® from Ordesa Laboratories, which is composed of – Imunoglukan®: a substance formed by biologically active non-absorbable polysaccharides of vegetable origin. – Vitamin C: powerful antioxidant that contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and helps to compensate the possible deficiency of this compound. Imunoglukan P4H® is a food supplement that helps the proper functioning of natural defenses in children from 1 year of age (Imunoglukan P4H® Kids syrup) and adults (Imunoglukan P4H® capsules).
Food supplements based on echinacea, propolis and thyme such as Aquilea Kids.
Propolis with Echinacea from Uriach laboratories or Composor 08 Echina Complex from Soria Natural laboratories.
Aquilea Kids Propolis with Echinacea is presented in syrup and is indicated for children from 3 years old and Composor 08 Eching Complex is presented in drops and is indicated for children from 12 years old and adults. Echinacea contributes to the proper functioning of the immune system. Thyme soothes in case of throat and pharynx irritation. The substance propolis (Propolis) has multiple antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that promote the proper functioning of the immune system and help protect your defenses.
