OUR TEAM

MADRID

GET TO KNOW US

Family doctors, pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, traumatologists and physiotherapists at your home with a great vocation for their work.

At the end of 2016 Rebecca started offering her Pediatrics at home service in Madrid. She wanted to give her patients the time and attention they need in the safe environment of their homes.

Thanks to word of mouth and the power of social networks the number of families who trusted her was growing and in March 2020, pregnant with her 4th child and with the increased workload due to the pandemic, she decided to form a team.

At the beginning, Dr. María Peiró-Camaró and nurse Gabriela Fernández joined the team, and little by little more wonderful professionals who share the same enthusiasm for practicing quality medicine far from the rush joined the team.

DRA. REBECCA ORDOVÁS AINSCOUGH

Graduated in medicine in 2006 from the Complutense University of Madrid, member of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid with number 282861406 and specialized in family and community medicine at the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital. Since completing my residency in 2011, I have practiced pediatrics both in the public sector (since 2014 at the Ensanche de Vallecas Health Center and currently on leave of absence) and in the private sector (nursery schools and home care).

Born in Dublin and raised in Madrid, with a British mother and Spanish father “Spanglish” is what I spoke at home. With medicine, I found my professional future as well as my personal one, married to a Venezuelan surgeon and mother of four children. With my children, I have learned about subjects that are not taught in books: breastfeeding techniques, infant colic, overeating children, and healthy sleep habits. I am a doctor by profession and a mother by vocation, qualities that have taught me the empathy that children and parents need.

DRA. MARÍA URRETAVIZCAYA MARTÍNEZ

Born in Barcelona, from a Basque-French father and a Sorian mother. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (Hospital de Bellvitge) in 2015, specialized in Pediatrics and its specific areas in the Hospital Complex of Navarra (Pamplona) in 2020. After a year working at the Regional Hospital García Orcoyen in Estella (Navarra), I moved to Madrid where I combine my work at the Infanta Leonor University Hospital with pediatric home care. Passionate about general pediatrics, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine, I have also worked in pediatric nephrology and neonatology.

DRA. MARÍA PEIRÓ-CAMARÓ ADÁN

Graduated in medicine from the University of Valencia, class of 2007-2013. Member of the Illustrious College of Physicians of Madrid with number 282871128 since 2014. I completed my specialty at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos. Since completing my specialty, I have practiced pediatrics in the public sector in different health centers, and since 2020 I have been a member of this team.

Born in Madrid; raised in “La Terreta” (Valencia); daughter of a large family, married to a “Granaíno”, in love with my profession and all that it brings me as a professional but above all as a person. I consider that I have been lucky enough to be able to take advantage of every opportunity that my parents have given me to train me in what they like the most, as well as to acquire the facility that I have today to be able to speak both English and French with those who need it. As other concerns, I have to know different cultures and continue learning, giving thanks to all those who have helped me on my way. I forgot; if you have dogs, on my visits, please let them loose, I will treat them with the same affection that I give to your children because I am passionate about them.

DRA. TERESA COCO CARRASCAL

Graduated in Medicine from the University of Seville, class of 2009-2015. I did my residency in Family and Community Medicine at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid. I worked at the IFEMA field hospital in the last months as a resident doctor. Member number 282873970 of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid. I have worked as a general practitioner in different areas, as an emergency physician at the Hospital de la Princesa and as a family physician at the Cea Bermúdez Health Center.

Born in Jerez de la Frontera, I came to Madrid to discover other ways of living. Passionate about medicine, which teaches me so much, and the good conversations that I can also have in English, I do my best to never stop surprising myself and learning.

DRA. CELIA GASCÓN GALINDO

Graduated in Medicine in 2017 from the San Pablo CEU University of Madrid. Member of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid with number 282876574 and specialized in pediatrics and its specific areas at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital. During my last year of training, I focused on gastrointestinal pathology and pediatric nutrition at the Ramón y Cajal and La Paz hospitals in Madrid, as well as the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona. Since then, I have dedicated myself to hospital pediatrics with a focus on the digestive system, continuously updating my knowledge to provide the best treatment for our children’s health and happiness.

I also enjoy providing home care and pediatric emergency care, where the importance of comprehensive patient care is evident every day.

Being a pediatrician by vocation and grateful for having had a happy childhood, I have also worked as a monitor in children’s activities and participated in volunteer experiences with children and adolescents at national and international levels. They are our present and the hope for the future.

GABRIELA FERNÁNDEZ ÁLVARO

My name is Gabriela Fernández Álvaro, I love it, and I feel more comfortable when they call me Gabi. I am a cheerful and positive person. I am the youngest of three siblings, daughter of a British father and a Spanish mother. I am also the mother of 3 wonderful children. I am a nurse by vocation; it was always clear to me that I wanted to study nursing. I graduated in 2005 from the Autonomous University of Madrid. A few years later, I did a Master’s degree with access to the Doctorate in Nursing: “Research in Nursing Care” at the Complutense University of Madrid, and a couple of years later, I did the adaptation to the degree in Nursing at the same university.

I have always worked in the public access hospital environment, and I have combined it with various jobs, such as a nurse in summer camps with children with special needs, transferring patients from their homes to hospital centers, and even a nurse in sports centers. Almost always, my nursing care, and at present, is directed to the child population, and that is what I like and what fills me the most. Doing home nursing care allows me to connect in a very special and personal way with each mini-patient and their closest environment. You end up becoming the nurse of the family unit. I also believe that nursing at home, whenever possible, has a high impact on the improvement of each patient, as it increases satisfaction and adherence to treatments.

“When you are a nurse, you know that every day you will change a life or a life will change yours” – Gabi

DRA. MIRIAM ORTEGA PÉREZ

Born in Pamplona and graduated in Medicine from the University of Navarra in 2017. 5 years ago, I decided to leave my homeland to specialize in Pediatrics at the Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid, a national reference center where I continue to practice today. I subspecialized in Pediatric Intensive Care, a complex specialty that requires great dedication, but which makes me admire my little patients more and more every day.

A pediatrician by vocation, my mother passed on to me the desire to help and care for others. Since I was a child, I have been part of several NGOs, and during my student years, I volunteered visiting and doing activities with hospitalized children.

I really enjoy the contact with general pediatrics that being part of this great medical team gives me, and I work to give my best to the little ones and their families.

DRA. LAURA ALONSO-GAMO LÓPEZ DE LA CÁMARA

Born and raised in Madrid, I graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid. I am a member of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid with membership number 282876751. I specialized in Pediatrics at the Infanta Cristina University Hospital in Parla, and further sub-specialized in the field of Pediatric Endocrinology at the Ramón y Cajal, La Paz, and 12 de Octubre Hospitals in Madrid.

Currently, I practice Pediatric Endocrinology at the hospital where I completed my residency. In addition, I provide pediatric care at home as part of Dr. Rebecca Ordovás’ medical team. I am fluent in English and French, and I have always had a strong affinity for working with children. I consider myself fortunate to be able to work with them on a daily basis.

I strongly believe in the importance of home care as it allows me to help my patients grow up healthy while dedicating time to them and their parents. Providing them with confidence and peace of mind is a fundamental aspect of our role.

DR. FRANCISCO JAVIER RECIO VALCARCE

Graduated in medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 2016, I decided to carry out my pediatrics residency at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid. At the end of my 4 years of pediatric training, I did the subspecialty of pediatric pneumology and allergology during my last year of residency. This is a very useful subspecialty in the field of general pediatrics.

I have oriented my professional career to primary care in a health center in the eastern area of Madrid where I enjoy putting my pediatric knowledge into practice, as well as accompanying families in the growth and development of their children. Topics such as breastfeeding, asthma, obesity, sleep… among many others, arise daily among the doubts of my patients and I enjoy being able to follow their clinical evolution.

I want pediatrics to be a game for children and a peace of mind for parents. I want the whole family to have a personalized experience of medical care, and together we help their children during the beautiful journey that is parenting.

ELENA SOLANO MERINO

Born in Madrid, graduated in Nursing from the Pontifical University of Comillas (2005-2008), member of the Illustrious College of Nursing of Madrid with number 58,394.

I am the youngest of four siblings and a mother of two children who teach me something new every day. No one in my family had ever worked in the healthcare field; however, since I was a child, my vocation has been to care, and today I continue to train myself to do so in the best possible way.

I began my professional career in primary care, and now I have been working for more than 12 years in the Pediatric Emergency Department of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital, combining it with pediatric home care.

I feel very fortunate to dedicate myself to my passion, which brings out the best version of myself: pediatrics.

DRA. ISABEL MIRAS AGUILAR

I graduated in Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid, class of 2010-2016. I am a member of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid with membership number 281904092. I hold a Doctorate in Health Sciences cum laude from the University of Alcalá de Henares since 2022.

During my specialization in Pediatrics at the University Hospital of Guadalajara, I gained experience in providing comprehensive care to pediatric patients in the emergency department, hospitalization, and primary care settings. Throughout my residency, I focused on managing critical patients at the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital. Additionally, I completed an additional fourth and fifth year of training in the subspecialty of Neonatology at La Paz and San Carlos University Hospitals, which are nationally recognized centers.

Currently, I am working at the University Hospital of Getafe in the Neonatology section, while also practicing in the emergency department, where I attend patients of all ages. My desire to continually learn and improve drives me to combine my healthcare activities with research and continuing education.

Coming from a family of doctors with different specialties, I discovered my vocation for Pediatrics when I experienced the innocence of my first patient treated as a medical student and as a volunteer in children’s homes. Since then, I have dedicated myself to giving the best of myself to each of my patients.

DRA. BEATRIZ HUERTES DÍAZ

Born in León and graduated in Medicine from the University of Valladolid in 2008. During my student years, I had the opportunity to stay in the pediatric section of a hospital in Ghana, where I discovered my vocation for children. At that moment, it was clear to me that I wanted to dedicate myself to the care of children, and so years later, I arrived in Madrid to complete my training as a pediatrician at the University Hospital of Getafe. During the years of my residency, I completed my sub-specialization in pediatric nephrology, doing part of my specialty at the Hospital La Paz.

After finishing my residency in 2012, I continued working in the hospital setting as part of the team at the University Hospital of Getafe. There, I worked as a pediatric nephrologist, an activity that I combined with pediatric emergency and hospitalization care.

Now, after almost 14 years practicing pediatrics in the hospital, and after two small revolutions that are growing by leaps and bounds came into my life, I have decided to change the hospital for primary care. In addition to allowing me to dedicate more quality time to my children, I love the continuity offered by the health center, the close relationship with families, and above all, seeing my patients grow.

DR. ABEL GARCÍA-GASCO

I was born in Madrid and graduated in Medicine in 2015 from the University CEU San Pablo. I am a member of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid with number 282873946. I specialized in Family and Community Medicine at the Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda Hospital in Madrid and at the San Juan de la Cruz Health Center in Pozuelo de Alarcón. During my training, I had the opportunity to do external rotations in Washington D.C. and Katmandu to gain a more global vision of medicine. I also worked as a doctor in the IFEMA field hospital during the pandemic. Currently, I work as a family doctor in health centers in the Community of Madrid and as an emergency doctor in primary care centers.

As a family physician driven by vocation, what I value most in my work is the trust that patients place in me and the opportunity to accompany them throughout their lives. I have always enjoyed home care because it is an integral part of the daily routine in my specialty, allowing me to provide personalized and family-centered care at the same time.

DRA. CYNTHIA MENÉNDEZ MAND

Graduated in medicine in 2014 from the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in family and community medicine at the Prince of Asturias University Hospital. I have also been able to complement my training in countries such as India, Ecuador, Cambodia, and Nepal for several years. I have spent several months working in hospitals and always doing activities related to children. Since I finished my specialty, I have worked as a primary care pediatrician and in nursery schools. The approach and knowledge of children in their environment and family is what I like the most, seeing them grow and accompanying them in the different stages of life seems to me to be the most beautiful thing in this profession.

Born and raised in Marbella, married to a traumatologist from Madrid. Mother of two little girls, which is what has greatly complemented my training and has increased my curiosity in all areas of motherhood, in which I am in continuous training. I treat and act with my patients as I would with my own daughters, so don’t be surprised if I end up lying on the floor, full of stickers or affectionately calling your children.

Neurodevelopment holds a special place in my heart because it is during this period that the brain has the most potential for improvement and adaptation. As I always say, “I am looking forward to teaming up with you.”

He did my residency in orthopedic surgery and traumatology at the Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid; where he later worked as an associate. Currently he is part of the lower limb unit at the Fraternidad Hospital in Madrid.

Father of two daughters and married to an Andalusian dedicated to pediatrics, he has also had training in Orthopedics and Child Traumatology at the Hospital Universitario Niño Jesús, including specific child traumatology shifts.

CARMEN I. DE LISA

With a degree in Psychology from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela, a degree approved by the Ministry of Education and member of the Colegio de Psicólogos de Madrid (number M-33426), I started practicing psychology since the third year of my career exploring the different clinical areas of psychology, training myself in depth in the evaluation and treatment of different psychological problems.

In 2011 I obtained my first master’s degree in Educational and Psychological Intervention at the University of Navarra in Pamplona. At the end of my master studies I returned to my country to work in academic counseling and private practice, with children with learning, behavioral, socialization and emotional difficulties. During this time my focus was on supporting the children at home, as well as the parents, seeking harmony and well being of both from the understanding of the difficulties presented in each case.

Born in Venezuela, I grew up among Portuguese and Spanish customs transmitted by my grandparents who kept their cultures active instilling the language and traditions. I came to Madrid with the purpose of expanding and improving my professional offerings. I arrived in 2017 where I spent a year and a half pursuing my second master’s degree in General Health Psychology. After finishing in 2019 I continued my work with children, adolescents and adults, not only in my native language, but also in the other two languages I am fluent in such as English and Portuguese. In my psychological practice I deal with a wide range of problems including learning difficulties, neurodiversity, attention difficulties, anxiety, depression and emotional difficulties.

With the enthusiasm to continue improving my practice I decided to pursue a third master’s degree in Systemic Family Therapy, which I am currently studying. This approach, which can be applied not only to the family but also to the individual, focuses on the context of the identified patient, which is usually related to the problems or difficulties he/she may present.

DRA. PALOMA PÉREZ LÓPEZ

Degree in Medicine and PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Alcalá, Master in Public Health and Preventive Medicine from the National School of Health / Carlos III Institute of Madrid.

I did my first residency in family and community medicine at the Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro at the same time that I did my first maternity residency. In R2 I had my second child and in R3 I had my third. This, and having been trained in a hospital where family medicine residents did a lot of pediatric emergency duty led me to discover my passion for primary care pediatrics and to want to develop in this professional field. My dream would be to be the physician for families, from newborns to grandparents, and so I see both pediatric and adult patients at various health centers in the Northwest area.

Thanks to my personal circumstances I have been trained in breastfeeding, infant sleep and aspects of parenting that sometimes do not strictly pertain to the health care setting, but do pertain to the families I treat. The most common thing is for doctors to become specialists first and then mothers/fathers, but in my case I believe that this “parallel training” in medicine and maternity gives me a particular and pragmatic vision of the health problems of families and this is something that my patients appreciate and that makes me enjoy this wonderful profession even more.

DR. MANUEL ROA

Graduated in Medicine from the University of Navarra in 2017, specializing in Pediatrics at the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Tenerife. I have always lived surrounded by children and the joy they transmit, so I could not imagine a different specialty. I like the close relationship with the patient so I work in primary care.

Currently I have two daughters, who help me see my patients with even more sensitivity and to understand that one of the tasks of a pediatrician is to facilitate practical aspects of parenting to parents as much as possible.

DRA. TERESA RODRÍGUEZ DEL REAL

I got my degree in Medicine in 2014 from the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid and I am a member of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid.

My training in orthopedics and traumatology took place at the Hospital Universitario Severo Ochoa (Madrid). My interest in pediatric orthopedics began when I was a medical student at the Hospital Universitario La Paz (Madrid). In July 2013, I went for an internship at the University Hospital of Coventry & Warwickshire. Later, during my residency, I did some additional training at the Hospital Universitario Niño Jesús (for 6 months) and at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children with Prof. D. Eastwood (for 2 months). When I was already a consultant, in September 2022, I went to Sheffield Children’s Hospital with Mr. Fernandes, Mr. Nicolau and Mr. Giles and carried out a visiting fellowship on osteogenesis imperfecta.

I currently work as a specialist in pediatric orthopedics at the Hospital Universitario Getafe  and the Hospital Universitario Niño Jesús.

I love working with children and being able to communicate with them since it is a challenge to know how their brain works and thus be able to connect with them. That is why I like to practice a style of medicine in which a space of trust is created between the child, the family and the doctor, with enough time and focused on the person.

I am married to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with whom I have created a very good team personally and professionally. We are parents of a baby girl.

EDUARDO ORTIZ

Graduated in Physiotherapy and CAFyD by the University Francisco de Vitoria, collegiate with number 16120, currently studying the Master of Invasive Physiotherapy MVClinic with access to doctorate at the University San Pablo CEU. Passionate about sports, I have developed my work training around sports rehabilitation, personal training and rehabilitation of injuries.

Currently I combine home physiotherapy at Equipo Médico Ordovás, geriatric home physiotherapy at Hospital La Princesa (trauma, respiratory and oncology) with sports physiotherapy in the clinic. In my last years as a professional I have been learning from many fields related to health and sport, where I have taken a special affection for the geriatric branch, where the relationship with the patient is much closer and patients are very grateful and treat you with a special touch.

DR. MARIANO SILVA

Born in Madrid and graduated in Medicine from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid in 2017. After Completing the MIR, I specialized in Pediatrics at the Hospital Universitario La Paz, where I later sub-specialized in Pediatric Endocrinology and trained in different fields such as diabetology, obesity or hypo growth.

After working in the Emergency Department of the Hospital La Paz, I decided to change and started my career in a Health Center in the Northern Area of the Community of Madrid, where I have ended up developing my professional career happily, being able to perform a longitudinal and continuous follow-up of my patients and their families.

Working with children gives us a different way of seeing things and a joy in the day to day that I think other jobs do not give; it is a good thing to be able to enjoy it.

MARTA GIMÉNEZ GARAIZÁBAL

Since 2009 I have been working as a physiotherapist in different clinics and complementing my profession with Physical Activity, often as a rehabilitation tool in certain injuries. I have worked as a family doctor in several health centers in the Community of Madrid and since 2019 I am part of the team of pediatricians at the Ensanche de Vallecas Health Center, where I serve dozens of families every day.

I always knew I wanted to dedicate myself to medicine (like my father!). I was lucky enough to attend a French bilingual school, and I am also fluent in English. I love animals and I have a dog named Gazpacho, so wherever there are furries, I feel at home. My curiosity for the human being has led me to combine my work as a doctor with the Degree in Philosophy by the National University of Distance Education (UNED), which I have been studying since 2019. I like to write haikus, short poems of Japanese origin inspired by nature, and with which I have won several contests.

I know that visits to the doctor are not usually pleasant moments for the little ones. That’s why I try to make every examination a game, so that they lose their fear and feel safe. And if it is important to treat all patients with kindness and affection, it is even more important during the stage of life in which we are most vulnerable.

JUDITH HERNÁNDEZ
